When should I apply?

The answer is TODAY. Time is VERY tight.

You want to apply early and set that bar. The casting team will be discussing and assessing applications AS THEY ARE RECEIVED.

What is the age requirement?

Applicants must be 19 years of age by November 1, 2023 to apply.

Do I need to be a Canadian Citizen?

You must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada to apply for Canada’s Drag Race. 

Are there any COVID-19 vaccination requirements?

Yes, to be on the show, you must be vaccinated against COVID-19 per current government recommendations (https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/vaccines/how-vaccinated.htmll) and you may be required to show proof of vaccination status during the casting process.

How do I know that you’ve actually received my application?

When you hit the ‘Apply Now - BAM’ button, you will see a Submission Confirmation page that says ‘ConDRAGulations!’

Once you see this page, you can rest assured that we have received your application.

Will I be contacted by the casting team regarding the status of my application?

Due to the large number of applicants for Canada’s Drag Race, we are unable to contact each applicant. We will only contact those candidates who are selected to move forward in the casting process.

Can I apply more than once?

NO. We will only consider the first application received.  Any subsequent application received from the same candidate will be deleted. 

I have applied for previous seasons, can I use the same photos and videos?

You may ... but bear in mind, you want to put your best, freshest, most up-to-date foot forward. We cannot wait to see what you are serving NOW. 
 

Can I start my application, stop and come back to complete it at another time?

NO. You must complete your application in one session.  You cannot access your application at a later time. 

You are advised to read and review the application and prep your visuals before starting. 
 

Can I apply on my phone?

Yes, however, we STRONGLY advise that you complete your application on a laptop or desktop computer.

I am not able to upload my video.  Are there special requirements to do so?

You should be able to easily drag and ‘death’ drop your video into the application. If you have issues loading photos or video, email us directly at CDRcasting@blueantstudios.com

Am I allowed to post my video publicly on social media; YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, IG, TikTok?

NO.  Due to the confidential nature of the series, you MUST keep your application video private.  Applicants MAY BE DISQUALIFIED for breaching confidentiality.

Is Canada’s Drag Race a union production?

Canada's Drag Race is non union and non signatory to ACTRA.

I have questions about the terms and conditions in the Online Applicant Agreement and Release.

Please be sure to read the terms and conditions in the Online Applicant Agreement and Release in full before submitting your Application.  If you have specific questions, please consult legal counsel at your own expense.

How will I know if I’ve moved to the next round of casting?

You will be contacted by a member of the CDR5 Casting Team by phone or email. Those candidates selected to move forward will be contacted no later than December 30, 2023.

What is the Deadline for application for Season Five?

The deadline to apply is Thursday, November 23 at 11:59pm PST.  That said, please refer to FAQ question #1.
